A native-born Californian, John graduated from CSU Stanislaus with a degree in Chemistry. From there John started as a lab technician at Bronco Wine Company in June 2003 and shortly thereafter fell in love with the wine industry. To assist him with his career in winemaking, John took extensive courses at UC Davis before moving into the winemaking department in 2005. Since then, John has been fermenting and crafting conventional and organic wines for not only Bronco but for wineries / winemakers from California to Canada, South America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. In 2017, John taught the Enology 45 course at Fresno State University educating young Enology students on Wine Evaluation Techniques. 2021 was a busy year for John. He joined the Wine Institute Board of Directors representing District 10 along with joining the American Vineyard Foundation as a Board Member replacing Fred T. Franzia.
Currently, John is the Managing Director of Winemaking, Wine Production, and Bulk Sales where he oversees all winemaking, production, and bulk wine sales for 3 wineries located in Napa and the San Joaquin Valley for Bronco Wine Company.
